Reducing the environmental impact of processes is important but over 80% of product-related environmental impacts are determined during the product design phase. For many years we have provided a green design service covering products and packaging solutions. As well as reducing supply chain environmental impacts, the green design process reduces manufacturing costs, improves brand image and reduces the vulnerability of products to shifting environmental pressures.

Developed by BRE in 2001, EcoHomes has become the de facto standard for sustainable building in the residential sector. The EcoHomes rating considers building materials, energy efficiency, transport and other aspects, combining them into a single score. We have three registered EcoHomes assessors and deal with the vast majority of EcoHomes related work in Scotland. Our service ranges from a simple assessment against the standard to comprehensive design assistance ensuring a particular rating.

One of our main service areas has always been the provision of advice and assistance to clients (usually housing associations, developers or architects) on sustainable construction. As well as the fairly small-scale residential side of sustainable construction covered by EcoHomes, we are also involved as sustainability consultants in several larger scale sustainable construction projects, such as the regeneration of Craigmillar, Fountain North, Green Dykes, Queen Margaret Drive, Edinburgh Fruitmarket.
