Ecodyn manages various multi-megawatt scale wind farm projects, predominantly for community groups. These projects often take several years from initial discussions to operation and require careful negotiation of options and lease agreements, grid connection, power purchase and project finance. Projects of this scale invariably require a full environmental impact assessment, which requires co-ordination of specialist research into local and national planning policy, landscape and visual impact, ornithology, ecology, hydrology and hydrogeology, cultural heritage, archaeology, noise, transport, access, grid infrastructure, shadow flicker, public safety, communications, aviation and radar. In addition, we install meteorological masts and carry out a detailed assessment of wind resource, energy yield and financial projections. Whilst this is all going on, we also manage public consultation, publicity, community involvement and a wide range of other requirements.
These projects are of a scale sufficient to make a real difference to the sustainability of entire communities, environmentally, financially and socially.
