Our business is all about qualifications and experience. Our team are all qualified to at least MSc level and hold professional membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), as well as other specialist institutions relevant to their particular area of expertise. As a business, everything we do is controlled through our integrated management system, which is certified to the international standards ISO9001, for quality, ISO14001, for environmental management and the renewables industry-led Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
Duncan Oswald
Duncan is the founding director of Ecodyn. He is a Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of IEMA. For several years now, Duncan has been primarily involved in renewable energy projects, from multi-megawatt community wind farms down to individual small-scale wind turbine installations. As well as experience in wind turbine installation, site survey, planning, EIA, finance, project management etc., Duncan is also still involved in the company’s traditional services, such as sustainable construction, green design, process efficiency and legal compliance. But mainly it’s wind turbines.
Julie Allan
Julie is a Director with Ecodyn and has been with the company since 2000. She holds an MSc in Environmental Management, is a Chartered Environmentalist, Member of IEMA, Member of the Charted Quality Institute, and is also Lead EMS Auditor. Her areas of expertise are integrated management systems development, pollution prevention and control, auditing, process improvement and environmental legal compliance. Julie has experience within a wide range of industrial sectors and all sizes of organisations.
Keir Allen
Keir is a Director with Ecodyn and has been with the company since 2001. Keir has an MSc in Environmental Management, is an Associate of IEMA and is a registered BRE Ecohomes Assessor. Keir has a wide – ranging environmental background including renewables, waste minimisation, life cycle assessment, habitat management, management systems and PPC permits. He has worked with all sizes of sites and organisation from the smallest SME’s to FTSE 100 registered companies.
Elaine Johnson
Elaine has been with Ecodyn since 2005 and is typically involved in Ecodyn’s traditional consultancy services such as: legal compliance, PPC permitting and support, sustainable construction and strategic environmental assessment. Currently, the majority of her work is management system (ISO 14001, ISO 9001) development and auditing for clients throughout the UK. Elaine holds an MSc in Environmental Protection and Management, is an Associate member of IEMA, a registered Lead EMS Auditor, a member of the Chartered Quality Institute and a BREEAM Commercial Assessor.
Henrik Micski
Henrik is based in the company’s Skye office and has been a member of Ecodyn Limited since 2007. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management and an Associate of IEMA and has worked in both the public and private sector. Most recently Henrik has focused on working on renewable projects but has a very diverse expertise encompassing carbon management, environmental management systems, waste minimisation & energy efficiency, industrial sustainability, IPPC and strategic environmental assessment.
Heather Bain
Heather joined Ecodyn in 2010 and is currently involved with the office administrative duties, planning processes and pre sales for our many renewables clients. Heather used to work in a National Sales & Training role in which she acquired her planning and account management skills. In addition, she assists with the company’s accounting procedures and contractor management. She is currently working towards a degree in Environmental Science with the Open University.
Roisin Fahey
Roisin is involved in Ecodyn’s renewables projects to which her academic background, MSc Sustainable Energy Systems and BSc (hons) in Applied Physics and Electronics, is extremely well suited. The majority of Roisin’s experience is in small scale renewable wind energy projects where she is involved in the initial site surveys, system design and all aspects of the planning process. Roisin is also the company’s expert in using the wind energy software, WindFarm, used for the optimisation, analysis and design of wind turbine projects.
Andrew Hodge
Andrew is based in our Oban office and is involved with Ecodyn’s renewables projects. Andrew has a BSc in Ocean Science and Technology and lots of practical experience of wind turbine installation, including having recently installed his own at his farm near Oban. Andrew has also been involved with other types of energy and renewables projects including small scale hydro, feasibility studies and the provision of energy efficiency advice. He also has other practical environmental-related experience including forestry management, habitat management and conservation.
